Contact Backup & Restore

Privacy Policy

Iappinc ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Contact Backup & Restore mobile application (the "App").

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App may access, how it is used, how it is stored, and your choices regarding your information.

By using Contact Backup & Restore, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Access

Contacts

Contact Backup & Restore requires access to your device contacts when you use features such as:

  • Backing up contacts

  • Restoring contacts

  • Exporting contacts

  • Importing contacts

  • Viewing contact information

  • Selecting contacts for backup

  • Managing or transferring contacts

Depending on the feature you use, the App may access contact information such as:

  • Contact names

  • Phone numbers

  • Email addresses

  • Contact photos

  • Organization information

  • Other contact fields stored in your device's address book

We use this information only to provide the contact-related functionality requested by you.

We do not sell your contacts or use your contact information for advertising purposes.

2. How We Use Information

Information accessed by the App may be used to:

  • Create contact backups

  • Restore contacts to your device

  • Import and export contacts

  • Transfer contacts

  • Display contact information within the App

  • Detect and manage duplicate contacts, if available

  • Provide contact management functionality

  • Improve App performance and reliability

  • Respond to support requests

We do not use your contacts for purposes unrelated to the functionality of Contact Backup & Restore.

3. Contact Backup Files

When you create a backup, the App may generate a contact backup file, such as a VCF/vCard file.

Depending on the features available in your version of the App, the backup file may be:

  • Stored locally on your device

  • Saved to a location selected by you

  • Shared by you using Android's sharing functionality

  • Uploaded to a cloud service only when you explicitly use a cloud-backup feature

You are responsible for protecting and managing backup files that you export, share, or store outside the App.

4. Local Storage

Contact Backup & Restore may store application data and backup files locally on your device to provide its functionality.

Local data may include:

  • Backup files

  • App settings

  • Backup history

  • Selected preferences

  • Other information required for the App to function

Local data generally remains on your device unless you choose to share, export, or upload it using an available feature.

5. Cloud Backup

If the App provides cloud backup functionality, information and backup files are transmitted to the selected cloud-storage provider only when you choose to use that functionality.

Cloud backups may contain contact information because contacts are the subject of the backup.

You should review the privacy policy and terms of the cloud-storage provider you choose.

If cloud backup is not enabled or used by you, the App does not upload your contacts to a cloud service solely for backup purposes.

6. Advertising

Contact Backup & Restore may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising providers, such as Google AdMob.

Advertising providers may collect or receive information such as:

  • Advertising identifiers

  • Device information

  • Approximate location information

  • App interaction information

  • Diagnostic information

This information may be used to provide, measure, and improve advertising.

We do not provide your contact list or the contents of your contacts to advertisers for advertising purposes.

For more information about Google's advertising practices, please review Google's privacy policy:

  • Crash information

  • Diagnostic information

  • Anonymous or pseudonymous usage information

These services are used to improve the stability, performance, and functionality of the App.

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information with third-party service providers when necessary to:

  • Provide advertising

  • Provide analytics

  • Diagnose crashes

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for purposes unrelated to providing the App's functionality.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information.

You may:

  • Revoke contact permission through Android settings

  • Delete locally stored backups

  • Choose whether to create a backup

  • Choose whether to restore contacts

  • Choose whether to share exported backup files

  • Choose whether to use available cloud-backup functionality

If you deny contact permission, features that require access to your contacts may not function.

12. Data Deletion

You can delete locally stored backup files and App data using the available App features or Android device settings.

If you use a cloud-backup feature, you may delete cloud backups through the available deletion controls provided by the App or the applicable cloud service.
